The Wellington Garden Club will meet Monday, Nov. 7 in the Lakeview Room at the new Wellington Community Center (12150 W. Forest Hill Blvd.). A light breakfast begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a business meeting at 10:30 a.m. and a program at 11:30 a.m. on “The Art of Bonsai,” presented by Jonathan Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, an award-winning Bonsai artist and two-time president of the Bonsai Society of the Palm Beaches, is assistant curator of the Bonsai collection at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Garden. He will present an overview of the history, styles, colors, pot selection and trimming of Bonsai. Rodriguez also teaches Bonsai at Boynton Beach High School and Seminole Ridge High School. He has studied under some of the best Bonsai artists and has received worldwide recognition with his popular Furui Ki Bonsai account on Instagram.
