The St. Rita Knights of Columbus Council 8419 held a breakfast at Hilary’s Restaurant in Royal Palm Beach on Saturday, April 21 to give checks out to local nonprofit groups.
The three groups awarded checks were the St. Rita Youth Group, which greeted and did cleanup for the Friday night Lenten dinners; the Renewal Coalition of Jupiter for bringing wounded warriors and their families down for all-expenses-paid five-day vacations on the Loxahatchee River several times a year; and Loxahatchee Groves-based Project 425, a group of Vietnam War veterans.
Grand Knight Bryan Quinsey and Lenten Dinner Chair Frankie Trugilo gave out two of the checks at Hilary’s.
The St. Rita Knights of Columbus served more than 700 meals during the Friday season of Lent and all proceeds went toward the checks.
