Temple B’nai Jacob of Wellington will be hosting a Tikkun Leil Shavuot, a traditional study session on the first night of Shavuot, Saturday, May 19, beginning at 8 p.m. The theme of the evening is “Journeys to Judaism,” a discussion of the process of becoming a Jew by Choice.
Inspired by the biblical story of Ruth, the evening will include presentations by several members of the congregation outlining the unique events and circumstances which led them to Judaism, as well as an overview of conversion in Jewish tradition. The evening will begin with services at 8 p.m., followed by the program. Traditional dairy desserts will be served to commemorate the holiday.
