Vita Nova, a leader in helping young adults transition to independence, announces the Spot, a safe and non-judgmental drop-in center for homeless youth ages 18 to 25. The Spot is located at 2724 N. Australian Ave. in West Palm Beach.
For homeless youth who are unaware of where to go or not sure how to get started, the Spot is there to help. Vita Nova’s the Spot welcomes youth in off the streets in an effort to link them to resources and programming aimed at eliminating or reducing the risk of homelessness.
At the Spot, youth will receive assessment, life skills training and linkages to meet housing, healthcare, employment, education and overall wellness needs. Team members of the Spot are enthusiastic, encouraging, understanding and ready to partner with youth.
“Finally, a place for youth to go when they have nowhere else to turn,” said Jeff DeMario, chief executive officer of Vita Nova. “I am grateful to our board of directors and funders for helping us open the first drop-in center for older foster youth and homeless youth in the county.”
Team members of the Spot include an intake and assessment specialist, housing coordinator, healthcare coordinator, employment coordinator and several case managers to assist the youth in any situation.
