The Village of Wellington hosted its Back-to-School Community Block Party on Saturday, July 28 at the Wellington Community Center. There was free food, face painting, a climbing wall, music and games. The event was hosted by Wellington’s Community Services Department. More than 400 backpacks filled with school supplies were given away thanks to community partners, and Back to Basics gave away 300 pairs of shoes and socks and 250 sets of uniforms. The event was made possible through partnerships with the Christopher Aguirre Memorial Foundation, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital at Memorial, the Wellington Community Foundation, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue, Art Cellar, KLX Aerospace Solutions, Rockwell Collins, Walgreens, Back to Basics, the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, the Wellington Rotary Club, Friedland & Associates, the Palm Beach County Library System, Trader Joe’s, Wellington InterFaith, Great American Cookies, Ultima Fitness and Wellington Regional Medical Center.
