Wellington Regional Medical Center hosted a “Call of the Quarter” celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 28 to recognize Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Station 20 and reunite stroke patient Thelma Bibbo with the rescue crew, hospital physicians and staff who saved her life. The event also celebrated Bibbo’s 91st birthday. On May 21, Bibbo’s son called 9-1-1 to report that his mother had experienced a decrease in blood pressure and fainting spells while eating at a restaurant. PBCFR responded and issued a “stroke alert” to the emergency room, beginning a coordinated response that saved the patient’s life.
