Rocky’s Ace Hardware is getting into the holiday spirit and hoping to make animals’ wishes come true by announcing its annual Pet Food & Supplies Drive.
Now in its eighth year, the drive is taking place Nov. 14 through Dec. 23 at all Rocky’s locations, including the location in the Wellington Marketplace at 13837 Wellington Trace. Those interested in donating can do so by depositing pet-related goods in designated bins in each store.
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter shelters every year. A typical facility houses anywhere from 250 to more than 500 animals each day.
To help aid in this endeavor, Rocky’s has partnered with local area animal shelters to provide them with the necessary food and supplies they need to ensure their locations continue to operate. A list of supplies most often requested will be on display at each location. Typical items include food, paper towels, brooms, trash bags and bleach, and more festive options include treats, collars and pet toys.
“With the season of giving upon us, we often forget about our furry friends that are also looking for a holiday miracle,” Rocky’s President Rocco Falcone said. “We encourage everyone to participate in our annual Pet Food & Supplies Drive, doing your part to bring some cheer to an animal in need.”
