Saturday, Feb. 22 is the time of year for tutus at the largest dog-walk in Palm Beach County. Come dressed in your best tutu and bring your four-legged friend to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League’s 19th annual Barry Crown Walk for the Animals on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Meyer Amphitheatre, located at 105 Evernia Street in West Palm Beach.

This pet-friendly walk begins at 9 a.m. with check-in and registration, vendors and a complimentary breakfast. At 10:15 a.m., after opening ceremonies, participants will enjoy a scenic walk down Flagler Drive. Along the walk route, there will be a team sign contest with prizes being awarded on stage following the walk.

As participants complete the one-mile route, they’ll enjoy pet costume contests with amazing prize baskets at center stage. Categories include Best Dressed, Most Creative, Owner/Pet Look-A-Like and Best in Show. There will also be live entertainment, local vendors and a silent auction and raffle area with great prizes. The day will be emceed by Jennifer Ross of Sunny 107.9 FM and WFTL 850AM. The event concludes at noon.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register to walk and form teams. Each registrant who raises at least $35 will receive a free t-shirt and a bandana, while supplies last.

There are also many fundraising opportunities to earn extra incentives.

“Our Walk for the Animals has grown tremendously over the years, and we are very excited to once again have this year’s walk located along the beautiful City of West Palm Beach waterfront at the Meyer Amphitheatre,” said Rich Anderson, executive director/CEO of the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. “As a nonprofit that receives no city, state or federal government funding, the league relies on community support to help us provide services to more than 30,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens every year, we are extremely grateful to all of those who get involved in this event.”

All proceeds benefit the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. Sponsors include Garden of Life, Jones Foster, Napleton Northlake, Nozzle Nolen Pest Solutions, Prime Golf Cars, Scenthound, Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart and Shipley, ServPro of Boynton Beach, Sunny 107.9 FM, Very Important Paws and WPBF 25 News.
