Veterinarians Dr. Meg Miller-Turpin (left) and Dr. Byron Reid (right) of the Equine Hyperbaric Center, located in Loxahatchee Groves, co-sponsored and presented at a fundraiser for the nonprofit Help Our Wounded Foundation on Thursday, Jan. 16 at the first of the Winter Equestrian Festival’s Lunch & Learn Series events for the 2020 season. Hilary Loftus (center), a director at the foundation, explained hyperbaric oxygen therapy in layman’s terms and cited examples of how it has cured migraines, accelerates wound healing and diminishes effects of many types of head trauma. Reid explained the mechanics and safety features of the chamber located on F Road in Loxahatchee Groves, while Miller-Turpin cited before and after equine success stories at the chamber, as well as work with a sea turtle.
