The Wellington High School wrestling team recently advanced to the FHSAA state dual tournament with a 67-6 win over Park Vista High School and a 49-27 win over Olympic Heights High School. The state championships will be held at Osceola High School in Kissimmee this Friday and Saturday. Wellington will face Palm Beach Gardens High School on Friday, the only other Palm Beach County team to advance to the tournament in Round 1. The winner will advance to the semifinals on Saturday. The Wolverines were also able to recognize a milestone by two of senior wrestlers, Lukas Forehand and Jesse Weinberg, for surpassing the 100 career win mark.
