The Wellington Village Council received the village’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the year ended Sept. 30, 2019 at the Tuesday, Feb. 25 council meeting.
Grau & Associates Certified Public Accountants conducted the annual audit, issuing an unmodified, clean opinion, the highest opinion possible. An unmodified opinion indicates that the financial statements, in all material respects, fairly present the financial position and the respective changes in financial position of the Village of Wellington.
The CAFR contains the village’s audited financial statements and other financial information. It also contains information about the local economy, the structure of Wellington’s government, future financial plans and policies.
“The council fully supports transparency and responsible fiscal management of our residents’ taxes. It is crucial for us to show strong, sound audit results confirming our commitment to maintaining Wellington as our great hometown,” Mayor Anne Gerwig said. “The annual audit and budget processes are critical to helping meet the needs of our community.”
The latest CAFR, along with all financial reports, are available from the village. Residents can request any of this information through www.wellingtonfl.gov
