The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s Neil S. Hirsch Wellington Golf Classic recently raised a record-breaking $67,278 for critical programming at the Neil S. Hirsch Family Boys & Girls Club in Wellington. The tournament took place Friday, Dec. 17 at Wellington National Golf Club. More than 104 golfers and 26 foursomes gathered to take on the course for a day of golf in support of local children.

“This golf tournament keeps getting better every year! It is such an honor to work on this tournament with such a great committee and leadership from the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County,” Committee Member Ray Mooney said. “We were fortunate to have some great sponsors really step it up this year, and hopefully this will give us momentum for the 2022 tournament. Our goal a few years ago was to make this the premier golf tournament in Wellington, and I think we are well on the way to achieving our goal. Every penny we raise goes right to the club here in Wellington, and it is so important to know that the money raised here stays here.”

The Neil S. Hirsch Wellington Golf Classic was supported by Elliot T. Bonner Jr., Florida Power & Light, Howard Fabien, Bonefish Mac’s Sports Grille of South Florida, John Chandler of Chandler Construction Company, Nicolette Goldfarb of Illustrated Properties, Johnny Meier of My Community Pharmacy, Mickey Smith of Lesser Lesser Landy & Smith, Max Westerman, Raymond James Financial Services, the Connor Financial Group and Sassafras Lange. Committee members include Johnny Meier, Elliot T. Bonner Jr., Max Westerman, Ray Mooney and John Hornberger.

Proceeds will support the Neil S. Hirsch Family Boys & Girls Club, one of 17 sites located throughout Palm Beach County. The clubs provide services during non-school hours, as well as summer camp opportunities, to more than 10,000 boys and girls from ages 6 to 18.
