Polo Park Cyber Stallions On A Roll

The Cyber Stallions celebrate their regional tournament success.

Polo Park Middle School’s Cyber Stallions robotics teams continued their winning streak with victories at the regional tournament hosted by Palm Beach Gardens High School on Feb. 26.

Team 16113, the Cyber Guardians, took first place for Core Values. This victory advanced them to compete in the Florida State Invitational in Niceville held March 31 through April 2.

Team 36112, the Rockin Robots, won first place for Robot Performance, scoring 510 points, the highest score in the state, also ensuring their appearance at the Florida State Invitational.

Team 44893, the Royal Robots, earned a third-place spot for Robot Performance with 420 points, and as regional champions will represent South Florida at the World Invitational in Houston, Texas, set for April 20-23.

“All of these kids have worked so hard to get to this point,” said David Grad, the Cyber Stallions’ coach. “I have watched them grow from individuals into a family. This is what first robotics is all about. It also focuses on the six core values, which are fun, teamwork, inclusion, impact, innovation and discovery.”

The teams have set up a page on GoFundMe to raise money to help with travel expenses. If you would like to contribute, visit http://gf.me/u/2skkfq.
