The Village of Wellington held its annual Back-to-School Bash event on Saturday, July 30 at the Wellington Community Center. Hundreds of children pre-selected by the village’s Community Services Department received backpacks filled with school essentials, a school uniform and a new pair of shoes. The village was supported in this effort by the Wellington Community Foundation, the Christopher Aguirre Memorial Foundation, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, the Wellington Rotary Club, the Kiwanis Club of Wellington, the Step by Step Foundation and SoFlo Church. Thanks to their donations, the village was able to host a fun-filled day of activities and help ensure that hundreds of local children were ready for the new school year. The community services team also delivered additional back-to-school items to local schools in advance of the school year.
