A groundbreaking ceremony was held Saturday, Sept. 7 for the Wellington Sports Academy project at Village Park. Wellington Sports Academy is a public-private partnership between the Village of Wellington and Wellington Athletics, a company led by 10-year NFL veteran Jon Bostic. Bostic, a Palm Beach Central High School graduate and former University of Florida linebacker, is joined by a number of other sports luminaries on the project, which will offer advanced athletic training to talented participants across several sports. The project was originally slated for Wellington Community Park along South Shore Blvd. but was moved earlier this year to Village Park.
