To celebrate the inaugural James Hardie Pro Football Hall of Fame Invitational, being hosted in Boca Raton next spring, manufacturer James Hardie recently collaborated with students from the Weitz Construction Academy at Seminole Ridge High School to help build a new Habitat for Humanity home for a deserving South Florida family.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Pro Football Hall of Fame member and former Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas, PGA Tour Champions player Brett Quigley and James Hardie North America President Sean Gadd joined with Weitz Construction Academy students at Seminole Ridge in installing the Hardie Weather Barrier on the affordable new home.
Palm Beach County School Superintendent Michael Burke and Jennifer Thomason, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County, were also in attendance. This is the 11th Habitat for Humanity home built by the academy.
The home will be relocated and completed next spring, coinciding with the inaugural tournament taking place March 31 to April 6 at the Old Course at Broken Sound. Tickets for the James Hardie Invitational go on sale Dec. 1. Habitat for Humanity is one of the three core charity partners of the tournament, alongside First Tee and Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
