Homes For Our Troops Kicks Off Project For Injured Vet

The Bonfiglios with Homes For Our Troops staff members, joined by past and future home recipients.

The national nonprofit Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) kicked off the building of a specially adapted home for U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman Third Class Edward Bonfiglio on Saturday, Jan. 18.

The event took place at Osceola Creek Middle School, and Bonfiglio’s new home will be in the Acreage/Loxahatchee area. The community kickoff event signified the start of the building process and served to introduce Bonfiglio to the community. Bonfiglio and his wife Amanda both spoke at the ceremony.

Bonfiglio was injured in 2009 while serving in Afghanistan. He later lost his left leg below the knee. HFOT has built more than 400 homes for injured veterans since the organization’s inception in 2004. Learn more at www.hfotusa.org.
