Students from Genbu-Kai Karate recently traveled to Santa Ana, California, to participate in the 54th annual Goodwill Championships. While there, the students participated in karate, kobudo (weapons) and batto (sword) seminars, along with competing in the competitions.
Award winners include: Taylor Matthews (third in batto cutting); Jared Lee (third in batto cutting and second in karate kata and kumite); Philip Harris (first in karate kumite); James Ricci (first in batto kata and second in karate kata); and Eteliane Ricci (second in batto kata).
