RPB Council OKs New Gas Station

The Royal Palm Beach Village Council last week approved an application for a 7-Eleven gas station on Southern Blvd. near the AutoZone automotive parts store.

At the Nov. 15 meeting, Planning & Zoning Director Bradford O’Brien said the applicant was seeking a special exception to allow a 2,971-square-foot automotive service station, which will include a convenience store, on the western portion of the existing AutoZone site.

The 7,381-square-foot AutoZone store operates on the eastern portion of the development, located on a 3.1-acre parcel on the northeast corner of 103rd Avenue and Southern Blvd. The parcel had been previously approved for a bank.

Primary access will be a right turn off Southern Blvd. with a secondary entrance/exit off 103rd Avenue, which will extend to the eastern end of the parcel, O’Brien said.

The Royal Palm Beach Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval by a vote of 4-0 on Oct. 23.

Councilman Richard Valuntas made a motion for approval, which carried 5-0.
