More than 4,000 visitors are expected to attend the 15th annual Sweet Corn Fiesta at the South Florida Fairgrounds.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy some of the best locally grown sweet corn, watch amateurs and professionals chow down during a competitive corn eating contest, and partake in a number of other festivities.
Contests will begin at 1 p.m. Competitions will include old-fashioned bathing suits, kids and adult corn shucking, the amateur eating contest and the International Corn Eating Contest featuring Major League Eating around 3 p.m. There will also be live music.
The event will take place Sunday, April 26 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Yesteryear Village. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 11 and free for kids 5 and under. A $5 unlimited rides wristband is available for kids.
