Temple Beth Torah Mitzvah Day Jan. 27

Members of Temple Beth Torah in Wellington are taking action to improve their community by partnering with Wellington for Mitzvah Day on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Approximately 150 volunteers will participate in a variety of service projects, including beautifying Section 24 in Wellington, sorting buttons for Hugs & Kisses, sewing teddy bears for children, making no-sew blankets for high school graduates, and baking and delivery of cookies for firefighters and law enforcement officers.

“Mitzvah is a Hebrew word that means doing a good deed,” Temple Beth Torah’s Rabbi Stephen Pinsky said. “Our congregational effort to do good deeds for our community can make the community a better place for all of us and for our children.”

This is the fourth year Temple Beth Torah is partnering with Wellington for Mitzvah Day. The temple is located at 900 Big Blue Trace. For more info., call (561) 793-2700.
