Major supporters of the Cleveland Clinic Florida Ball were treated to a “dazzling” evening event Jan. 29 at the Palm Beach home of Sydell L. Miller. The evening served as a kickoff to the fifth annual ball, themed “Dare to Dazzle,” chaired by Miller and her daughter, Lauren Spilman. More than 150 guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a spectacular fashion show by Neiman Marcus that was staged in Miller’s dramatic gallery.
Dr. Bernie Fernandez, CEO of Cleveland Clinic Florida, greeted the guests, including event vice chairs Lori and Bruce Gendelman, Judith Murat Grubman and Raymond Perelman, honorary chair Bruce Bent, Kathryn and Leo Vecellio, Trisha and Jeff Cole, Ellen and Irwin Levy, Nancy and Gene Beard, and Beth Pine of Neiman Marcus.
The 2013 Cleveland Clinic Florida Ball will be held Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Mar-a-Lago Club. This season’s black-tie affair has plenty of exciting entertainment in store, including the sensational sounds of New York’s famous Starlight Orchestra. A special tribute to Patrick Park is part of the program as the recipient of the 2013 Sydell L. Miller Award.
All proceeds from the 2013 event will remain in Florida to enhance the premier medical programs and services offered at Cleveland Clinic’s West Palm Beach and Weston locations and support future expansion plans in Palm Beach Gardens and Parkland.
