At the February meeting of the Wellington Garden Club, Wellington Mayor Bob Margolis presented a proclamation from the Wellington Village Council designating Feb. 24 through March 2 as Wellington Garden Week.
The club will honor Wellington Garden Week by conducting free public gardening seminars, including a plant sale and raffle on Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Wellington Municipal Complex; a craft workshop for members on Feb. 25; a flower design workshop on Feb. 27, during which members will create designs to be given to supportive businesses and placed in Wellington public areas; and garden-related activities at local schools to be conducted by the club’s junior and high school garden clubs.
The Wellington Garden Club, a nonprofit organization with over 150 members, has been an active part of the local community, the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and National Garden Clubs since 1982.
