To show her support for diabetes research, golf pro Michelle McGann will host a bowl-athon Friday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Jupiter Lanes (350 Maplewood Drive, Jupiter).
McGann, a West Palm Beach native with a highly successful professional LPGA Tour career, has battled diabetes since the age of 13. McGann created the Michelle McGann Fund to further the efforts of organizations like the Diabetes Research Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The Michelle McGann Fund is dedicated to serving underprivileged children with diabetes. McGann strives to share the advantages she enjoyed to other children with diabetes. This means helping purchase insulin pump therapy equipment, or assisting in the development of physical education programs to encourage children to establish a healthy, active lifestyle from the onset of their life.
Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. A donation of $35 per person, teams of two get you into the game and the fun of unlimited bowling and shoes. McGann asks that participants gather teams (three teams to a lane) and register early. For more information, call (561) 743-9200 or visit www.michellemcgann.com or www.bowlfl.com.
