The Royal Palm Bassmasters held a fishing tournament Jan. 13 on Lake Okeechobee out of Clewiston.
First place was awarded to the team of Ed Singleton (boater), with five fish weighing 9 lbs., 15 oz. and partner Ken Hudson (co-angler) with five fish weighing 5 lbs., 13 oz., for a team weight of 15 lbs., 12 oz.
Second place was awarded to the team of Rick Rickenbach (boater), with five fish weighing 6 lbs., 1 oz. and partner Roxanne Rickenbach (co-angler), with five fish weighing 8 lbs., 15 oz., for a team weight of 15 lbs., 0 oz.
Third place was awarded to the team of Mike Madden (boater), with five fish weighing 8 lbs., 5 oz. and partner Herman Parker (co-angler) with five fish weighing 6 lbs., 9 oz., for a team weight of 14 lbs., 14 oz.
The Big Fish of the tournament was caught by Roxanne Rickenbach, with a bass weighing 3 lbs., 9 oz.
The Royal Palm Bassmasters meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Royal Palm Beach Recreation Center located at 100 Sweet Bay Lane.
The club is now accepting applications for new boaters and non-boater members. Come and check out the fun you’ve been missing.
