RPBHS Health Care Students Place At State Competition

Recently, 13 Royal Palm Beach High School students headed off to the 2013 Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference in Orlando. Among a turnout of 3,600 competitive students, two RPBHS students excelled in Health Care Management at the state level. With numerous students competing in each division, it is extremely rare to have two students place in the top five from a single school.

Sophomore Melanie Deoroop received fourth place, while senior Kevin Deal received fifth place in Health Care Management. All of the students from RPBHS competed extremely well and should be congratulated on outstanding work.

Mahendra “Randy” Deoroop, David Alves, Melissa Hatton and Bryan Baker represented RPBHS seniors in the Business Law category, while Quincy Jeanty and Martina Sandoval, also seniors, competed in Economics. Rounding out the senior competitors was Megan Webster in Health Care Management.

Juniors Christopher Micciche, Candace Tavarres and Alexander Holmstock competed in Accounting I, Extemporaneous Speaking and Personal Finance, respectively.

All of the students performed well and were dedicated participants in their respective events.
