New Horizons Elementary School fifth-grader Jesse Blecher was recently honored as a top recipient at the district Character Counts celebration. He was nominated by his teachers and chosen by district personnel for showing a sense of caring in all he does. As president of the student council, Blecher leads the way in promoting endeavors that help others, including Food for Families and Toys for Needy Families. As an honor student, he goes above and beyond with his schoolwork. As a great helper, Blecher reaches out to others through by peer tutoring and as an ambassador in welcoming new students to school.
