E. Anita Newman, distinguished toastmaster, past area governor and past president of the Sunset Speakers Toastmasters, was recently elected as director of Division D of Toastmasters District 47, which covers St. Lucie, Martin, Okeechobee and northern Palm Beach counties with 25 clubs and more than 500 members.
The new officers will serve for the 2015-16 year, which begins July 1. District 47 covers southeast Florida and the Bahamas and has 153 clubs with about 3,500 members. In order to manage them, the district is separated into seven divisions with a director for each.
