Local Professors Receive Promotions At PBAU

Palm Beach Atlantic University Provost and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Joseph Kloba recently announced four faculty promotions.

Dr. Christine Brooks of Royal Palm Beach was promoted to associate professor of nursing. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University, a master’s degree from Kennesaw State University and a doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She has been a member of the PBAU faculty since 2006. Brooks previously worked as a family nurse practitioner in private practice. She also has experience working in adult critical care as a staff nurse. Brooks has enjoyed precepting many students in critical care and in private practice at the associate and baccalaureate levels. In 2012, she received PBAU’s Corts Award for Outstanding Teaching.

Dr. Matthew DellaVecchia of Wellington was promoted to associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences. He holds bachelor’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Florida.

Dr. Lynn Erickson of Royal Palm Beach was promoted to associate professor of nursing. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree from Florida Atlantic University, and she has completed additional studies at the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University. She joined the PBAU faculty in 2008.

Dr. Olga Rybalkina of Royal Palm Beach has been promoted to professor of music. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Ukraine University, as well as a master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Toledo. She joined the PBAU faculty in 2005.
