Would-be thieves have been knocking on doors in Wellington neighborhoods, hoping no one is home, so they can enter the backyard and force their way in.
But thanks to a vigilant neighbor, three suspects are now under arrest.
On July 31, three suspicious males were seen walking up to the front door of a residence in the 300 block of Wranglewood Drive and knocking. No one answered. One was then seen jumping the backyard fence and signaling to the others.
Alerted by the neighbor, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived within moments, and all three suspects were detained.
One adult, Jeremiah Hinds of Wellington, 18, and two juveniles, one 15 and one 17, were arrested for burglary to an unoccupied residence.
PBSO officials remind residents: if you see someone suspicious or if you see suspicious activity in your area, call local law enforcement immediately. Also, lock your homes and cars, set your alarms and do not keep valuables in plain view.
