SEPT. 6 — A deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office substation in Royal Palm Beach was called to the intersection of Royal Palm Beach and Okeechobee boulevards last Friday night following an attempted robbery. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 10:35 p.m., the victim was stopped at a red light on Royal Palm Beach Blvd., traveling northbound. The victim had his windows rolled down and was approached by an unknown black male with short hair. According to the report, the suspect pointed a semi-automatic handgun in the victim’s face and told him to get out of the car. According to the report, the victim drew his own registered semi-automatic handgun, prompting the suspect to flee the scene. The victim said the suspect ran west on Okeechobee Blvd. According to the report, a second male was standing on the northeast corner of the intersection and had motioned with his head and hand toward the suspect before the victim was approached. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
SEPT. 2 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched to the Publix grocery store on State Road 7 last Monday regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, the victim was in the store at approximately 10:45 a.m. when someone removed a brown wallet from her purse, which was sitting in her shopping cart. According to the report, the victim noticed the wallet was missing when she reached the cashier at approximately 11:45 a.m. The victim said she had placed the wallet in her purse, but had not secured the purse. According to the report, there was video surveillance in the store, and the manager agreed to view the tapes. The stolen wallet was valued at approximately $20 and contained the victim’s driver’s license and credit cards. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
SEPT. 3 — A resident of Indian Trail Villas called the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach last Tuesday morning to report a case of assault. According to a PBSO report, two women got into a fight over dog feces, causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. According to the report, the first woman was walking her small dog at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Seminole Drive when a woman in a green Camaro began taking photos of her. The woman’s dog began to urinate, and the woman in the vehicle told her to pick it up, but she informed the woman it was urine. According to the report, the dog then defecated, and the first woman picked it up in a plastic bag and showed the woman in the vehicle. According to the report, the second woman said she reminded the first woman to pick up her dog’s feces, and the first woman became irate. The second woman claimed the first woman shoved the bag of feces in her face, slapping her with it and threatened her. The deputy reported that he did not observe any marks on either woman or on the vehicle.
SEPT. 6 — A resident of 30th Lane North contacted the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Friday morning to report a suspicious incident. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 9 p.m. last Thursday and 6:30 a.m. the following morning, someone opened the victim’s gate and left it open. The victim reported that he secures his gate at night with a chain, but woke up last Friday morning to find the gate open. According to the report, the victim searched his property and did not find anything missing.
SEPT. 6 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington responded to the Village Park gymnasium last Friday evening following a theft. According to a PBSO report, the victim was playing basketball in the gym at approximately 7:40 p.m. and left his iPhone 4 on the bleachers. The victim later realized his phone was missing, but had not seen anyone take it or walk nearby. According to the report, none of the other players saw anyone take the phone. The stolen iPhone was valued at approximately $400. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
SEPT. 7 — A resident of South Shore Blvd. contacted the PBSO substation in Wellington last Saturday afternoon regarding a case of vandalism. According to a PBSO report, sometime between noon and 3 p.m., someone damaged the victim’s gate using a vehicle. The gate is located on the southeast corner of the property. According to the report, the property’s caretakers believed the perpetrator(s) might return to steal items or tamper with the property. The damage was estimated at approximately $500, but there were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
SEPT. 8 — A Wellington man was arrested last Sunday evening on charges of assault with a deadly weapon following an altercation in the Isles at Wellington community. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the victim was outside on his back patio grilling when his neighbor, 48-year-old Jesse Estrada, came onto his property and assaulted him. According to the report, the victim said Estrada was being loud and aggressive and picked up a cast-iron candleholder and threw it at the victim. The victim said Estrada then tried to pull him over the grill by his shirt. According to the report, the victim feared getting hurt and hit Estrada several times with a baseball bat to ward him off. Estrada was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail where he was charged with burglary with assault or battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
SEPT. 9 — A deputy from the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation responded to a home on Murcott Blvd. Monday morning regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 8:30 a.m. last Friday and 11 a.m. Monday, someone stole the victim’s tag from his vehicle. There was no further information available at the time of the report.
SEPT. 9 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Royal Palm Beach was dispatched Monday morning to a construction site on SR 7 regarding a burglary. According to separate PBSO reports, sometime between 5 p.m. last Friday and 9:30 a.m. Monday, someone stole several rolls of copper tubing, a generator and 43,000 feet of wiring. The perpetrator(s) likely gained access through a rear door. The stolen items were valued at approximately $18,800. According to the report, a security company is supposed to patrol the business on weekends, but there were no suspects or witnesses.
