ArtStart Classes Will Resume

With school back in session, ArtStart, a Wellington-based nonprofit, will resume its after-school and Saturday art classes. Classes are led by ArtStart founder Jeannette Pomeroy Parssi. After-school classes are held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m., and Wednesday from 2:15 to 3:45 p.m.

Two art classes are offered on Saturdays for students who need help preparing for their auditions at the Bak Middle School of the Arts. Classes are from 9 to 10 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. for fourth-grade students and 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. for fifth-grade students. Classes for Bak audition prep are limited to six students. All classes include art supplies, expert instruction and critique.

Audition prep classes are also available for students applying for the Bak communications major. Class size is limited to three students. Classes will begin Saturdays after Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. and will be led by ArtStart Board Member Bill Underwood.
