The Oxbridge Academy girls golf team placed first in their division at the Crutchfield-Hawkins Invitational in Sebring on Sept. 30.
The team was led by freshman Paige-Lee Garris, who finished second in the tournament with a four over par 76. The other girls’ scores included Charlotte Kirk, 93; Madeline Anderson, 96; Danni Rocco, 103; and Sarah Cook, 113.
In addition to the team victory, Anderson was awarded the tournament’s Tom McClurg “Character” Award for honesty, integrity and contributions to the school and community. Under the direction of golf coach Meredith Anderson, who was a professional golfer for five years after her career at Vanderbilt University, the Oxbridge team is now 6-4.
