OCT. 16 — Several residents of Royal Ascot Estates called the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Wednesday morning to report acts of vandalism. According to separate PBSO reports, two residents discovered that someone had smashed the light fixtures on the entryways to their properties. According to one PBSO report, a resident of Prestwich Drive discovered that sometime between 10 p.m. last Tuesday and 6 a.m. the following morning, someone smashed two lamp-style light fixtures at the gated entrance to his property. The perpetrator(s) caused approximately $125 in damage. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report. In a second PBSO report, a resident of 161st Terrace North reported that sometime between 5 p.m. last Tuesday and 11 a.m. the following morning, someone smashed the light fixtures on her front gate, causing approximately $700 in damage. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 11 — A deputy from the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation was called to a home on 77th Lane North on Friday, Oct. 11 in response to a residential burglary. According to a PBSO report, a contractor discovered that sometime between 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 and 6 p.m. the following evening, someone smashed the rear window and entered the home, stealing copper wire from the power box in the garage, as well as the power box outside the home. According to the report, the deputy observed that the sliding glass door on the southwest side of the home had been pried, but it did not appear entry was made through the door. The stolen copper was valued at approximately $300. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 14 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington was dispatched to a home on Cold Springs Court last Monday morning regarding a delayed vehicle burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 and 8 a.m. the next morning, someone entered the victim’s unlocked work vehicle and stole a Sony Vaio laptop computer. According to the report, the victim noticed that someone had entered the vehicle because the glove compartment was open and papers were on the front seat. The victim didn’t realize the computer was missing until days later. The stolen computer was valued at approximately $1,700. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 14 — A resident of Portland Avenue called the PBSO substation in Wellington last Monday to report a case of vandalism. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 and 8:30 a.m. the following morning, someone keyed the victim’s vehicle and stole his license plate. The vehicle was in the victim’s driveway at the time of the incident. According to the report, the perpetrator(s) keyed the lower right side of the vehicle, causing approximately $2,000 in damage. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 16 — A deputy from the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation was dispatched to a home on 40th Run North last Wednesday morning regarding an act of mailbox vandalism. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 10 p.m. last Tuesday and 9:50 a.m. the following morning, someone removed the metal box from the post and damaged it, then left it on the ground. The perpetrator(s) caused approximately $25 in damage. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 16 — A Lake Worth resident contacted the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Wednesday evening regarding a theft. According to a PBSO report, at approximately 1 p.m. the victim had an appointment at the Palms West Professional Center on Southern Blvd. and was driven home because she was under medication. Later that day, she discovered her prescription glasses and her notebook computer were missing from her purse. The stolen items were valued at approximately $350. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 18 — A resident of Royal Ascot Estates called the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Friday morning to report an act of vandalism. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 6 p.m. last Thursday and 7 a.m. the following morning, someone damaged the victim’s black mailbox. According to the report, the victim said he went to get his mail and was unable to open the door to his mailbox. The victim said he believed someone hit it with a small instrument. According to the report, the perpetrator(s) caused approximately $25 in damage. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 18 — A West Palm Beach woman and a Wellington juvenile were arrested last Friday afternoon on charges of shoplifting after they were caught stealing from the JCPenney department store in the Mall at Wellington Green. According to a PBSO report, a loss prevention officer observed 18-year-old Nieves Fuertes and a female juvenile select several items of clothing and exit the store without attempting to pay. The loss prevention officer stopped them and recovered $511 in stolen items. Fuertes was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, where she was charged with grand theft. The juvenile was arrested and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
OCT. 18 — A resident of Royal Ascot Estates contacted the PBSO’s Acreage/Loxahatchee substation last Friday afternoon to report a stolen tag. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 10 a.m. last Tuesday and 4:23 p.m. last Friday, someone removed the tag from the victim’s vehicle. The tag was secured with a plastic cover and was last seen last Tuesday morning. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 18 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington responded to a home in the Eastwood community last Friday evening regarding a vehicle burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 7:50 and 9:30 p.m., someone attempted to pry open the driver’s-side front door of the victim’s vehicle. According to the report, the victim noticed damage to the door, but did not believe the perpetrator(s) gained access to the vehicle. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
OCT. 19 — A juvenile was arrested last Saturday on charges of shoplifting after she was caught stealing from the Claire’s store at the Mall at Wellington Green. According to a PBSO report, a store clerk observed the female juvenile conceal a cell phone plug and exit the store without paying. The juvenile was stopped and the item, valued at $5.50, was recovered. According to the report, the juvenile was trespassed from the mall for one year and released with a parent.
OCT. 20 — A deputy from the PBSO substation in Wellington was dispatched to a hair salon on Wellington Trace last Sunday morning regarding a burglary. According to a PBSO report, sometime between 7 p.m. last Saturday and 8:30 a.m. the following morning, someone pried open the rear door of the building, removing the dead bolt and doorknob in the process. Once inside, the perpetrator(s) stole approximately $400 cash from inside. There were no suspects or witnesses at the time of the report.
