Cpl. Burt Richards of the Veterans Speakers Forum of Palm Beach County recently visited with fourth-grade and fifth-grade students at Wellington Elementary School to discuss the history of war veterans, the Pledge of Allegiance, the importance of honoring those who serve and the many success stories of American war heroes.
“Cpl. Richards and puppet ‘GI Joe’ educated our students about the importance of veterans in our community and their history in the United States Armed Forces,” Principal Dr. Eugina Feaman said.
The Veterans Speakers Forum gives presentations throughout the year in schools, libraries and community events. The organization has an extensive number of veterans who are eager to tell their stories and spread a sense of understanding of what it means to be a veteran. Requests to the bureau should be submitted by e-mail to pr.group@juno.com. Include the details about the event and a contact person.
Wellington Elementary School staff and students thank and salute Cpl. Richards for his service to the nation.
