Wellington Christian School held its annual Racing for Haiti event April 12.
Students in preschool through fifth grade ran laps around the school’s campus and brought in more than 500 new and gently used shoes to donate to the struggling country of Haiti. WCS parent and Missionary Flights International pilot Kenny Gumpel explained to the students that many children deal with cut and sore feet due to not owning a single pair of shoes. He also thanked the children for bringing in necessary bars of soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes that will encourage good hygiene habits with the children of Haiti.
Wellington Christian School is a ministry of Wellington Presbyterian Church, serving more than 500 students from pre-school through 12th grade.
