RPB Rotary Awards Scholarships To RPBHS Seniors

At its final meeting of the year, the Rotary Club of Royal Palm Beach awarded the Todd Robiner Scholarship to five Royal Palm Beach High School students.

The students and a guest enjoyed breakfast at the club’s weekly meeting at Friendly’s, and spoke to the club about their accomplishments and plans for the future.

Bethany Alex will be attending the University of Tennessee and will major in political science; Chris Micciche, who is also the president of the school’s Interact Club, will be attending Palm Beach State College and majoring in accounting; Nandan Patel is going to Wake Forest University and majoring in oncology; Kimberly Rapp will be attending Florida International University and majoring in criminal justice; and Adrienne Edwards will be attending the University of Maryland.

Each scholarship recipient received a check for $1,000 toward next year’s tuition.

The scholarship was named in memory of Todd Robiner, a popular pre-med student who excelled in academics, athletics and music. He was a fiery football player, a championship wrestler, a talented musician and a scholar at Palm Beach Lakes High School in West Palm Beach.

He was a credit to his family, his friends and his community in true Rotary tradition before losing his battle with leukemia and passing away at the age of 21.
