RPBHS Receives STEM Grant From Pew Fund

The Mary and Robert Pew Public Education Fund has awarded its Galvanizing Change in STEM Education Grant to Royal Palm Beach High School. The grant awards $7,500 for various resources including materials, field trips and guest speakers.

A Polycom video conferencing system will be provided to implement project-based learning experiences to increase student interest in STEM education and to improve student achievement in math and science.

“We are very excited to be able to utilize these amazing resources to enhance our student’s educational experience and positively impact achievement,” said Jennifer Murphy, assistant principal for curriculum at RPBHS.

Several business partners, such as PBSC, FPL, Lockheed Martin, NASA, FAU and others, will collaborate with students on projects, as well as serve as field trip destinations.

Crestwood Middle School was a partner in writing the grant proposal and will also receive the grant’s resources.
