The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has once again awarded its certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting to Wellington’s Office of Financial Management & Budget for the Fiscal Year 2013 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
This certificate is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the highest standards of the program.
It was the 18th consecutive year that Wellington has won the award, and village officials give special recognition to Manager of Financial Reporting Mindy Boersma for her significant contribution to winning the honor.
The accolade reflects the commitment Wellington staff has for meeting the highest principles and best practices in governmental accounting and reporting.
