Lucas Riebe of Wellington was among more than 100 students who received their degrees at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology’s 172nd commencement ceremony.
Riebe earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, cum laude.
Ann Rhoades, founder and president of People Ink, delivered the commencement address. Rhoades was the former vice president for People of Southwest Airlines and founder/executive vice president of People for JetBlue Airways. She was awarded an honorary doctorate during the ceremony.
Mechanical engineering major Zachary Kroehler of Henderson, Minn., delivered the senior class message. Kroehler will join Caterpillar in Peoria, Ill., to work in engine development.
