A Children’s Summer Book Drive conducted in late spring by the Book Discussion Group of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Wellington netted more than 290 books for the students of Belle Glade’s Excel Charter School and PEPPI Head Start. The books were delivered by Rhonda Beitmen and Dawn Favata during the last week of school. Each child received a book of their own to encourage them to read over the summer. The collection was so successful, there were books to spare.
