The Good Earth Farm in Loxahatchee Groves is looking for interns for the upcoming fall and winter season.
The program is open to local high school students ages 14 to 17 with an interest in animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, and the hospitality and service industries who want to learn how to run a zoo.
“It will be treated like a real job with supervision and assessment,” Executive Director Nancy Fried said. “They’re going to put their phones away and interact with people.”
The Good Earth Farm is a nonprofit animal sanctuary. The interns will be required to participate every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for 30 weeks for a total of 195 hours. Interns will work in the cafe, make pizza, work with animals and give rides
Interested students should contact Fried at (561) 792-2666 by Sept. 15. The Good Earth Farm is located at 82141 B Road. To learn more, visit www.goodearthfarm.info.
