Loxahatchee Groves lost one of its best when Bill Gurney of E Road passed away on Friday, June 12.
Gurney served on the Loxahatchee Groves Water Control District and the interlocal steering committee for the Royal Palm Beach Pines Natural Area.
Gurney had a degree in biological sciences from Florida Atlantic University and was an avid environmentalist, always working to keep up the water and vegetation quality of Loxahatchee Groves.
Gurney is survived by his wife Delores and children Will and Sarah and their families. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary (2500 Jupiter Park Drive, Jupiter FL 33458, www.buschwildlife.org/donate).
