The Safety Council of Palm Beach County recently honored the Village of Wellington with two safety awards.

The village received the Merit Award for Worker Safety, which reaffirms staff’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all Wellington employees while always striving to keep safety at the forefront, with a focus on education and training to prevent accidents.

One of the highlights of this year’s awards was the village’s “Be Safe, Be Seen” initiative that focused on incorporating high-visibility safety uniforms among operational and field staff. Village employees are accountable to be seen and to be safe. The initiative increased safety awareness and reaffirms the village’s safety-first culture.

Wellington also received the Merit Award for Vehicle Safety. This is the village’s third consecutive year earning this recognition of its vehicle program as one of the safest in Palm Beach County.

The Safety Council of Palm Beach County recognizes water districts, municipalities, counties, construction, agriculture, transportation, hospitality, service and public safety organizations for demonstrating a commitment to safety.
