Reception For Colbert Collins Sculpture Installation

Michael Collins, Nancy Tilles and Leslie Pfeiffer with “Storyteller,” created by Colbert Collins in honor of his wife Shirley, director of children’s programs for the Palm Beach County Library System.

The Village of Wellington hosted a reception for the most recent installment of the Art in Public Places community initiative Thursday, July 22 at the Wellington Community Center. The reception highlighted the work of sculptor Colbert C. Collins, a former Wellington resident. Michael Collins, the artist’s son, spoke at the reception. Collins was a Wellington resident from 1977 to 2009. His sculptures reflect an inner vision that life is “a discovery of the inherent design and relationship between all things.” Four of his sculptures are on display at the Wellington Community Center, the Wellington Municipal Complex and at the entrance to Palm Beach Little Ranches, where Collins lived.
