Wellington Regional Medical Center’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine has been recognized as a Center of Distinction by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.
The center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of 92 percent over the past year. There were more than 600 centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award.
“The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine remains one of the most elite wound care programs in the country,” WRMC CEO Pam Tahan said. “The exceptional leadership team, as well as the outstanding physicians, nurses and therapists, continues to generate amazing results for our patients in need of wound care therapy.”
The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine is a member of the Healogics network of more than 600 wound care centers and offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds, which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
Advanced wound care modalities provided by WRMC wound care experts include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The center also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
“The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine specializes in patients with complex and non-healing wounds,” Program Director Marie Neshe said. “This recognition is an indication of the level of commitment our program’s team members have to ensuring our patients have the best possible outcome.”
The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine is located on the WRMC campus at 1397 Medical Park Blvd., Suite 180. For more information, call (561) 753-2680.
