The Village of Wellington has completed an urban forestry master plan for the village. The report was completed with assistance from the Urban and Community Forestry Program through a $7,500 grant.
The project’s main objective was to contract with specialists to develop an urban forestry master plan for the village. The master plan is based on data obtained from the inventory completed in 2020 and includes a current description of the urban forest, a vision for the future urban forest, a strategic plan, an implementation plan and a monitoring plan.
The village engaged a local firm to finalize the urban forestry master plan and is extremely grateful for the technical and financial assistance provided by the U.S. Forest Service, the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services and the Florida Forest Service.
