According to unofficial results from the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office, Vice Mayor Michael Napoleone has won his bid to become the next mayor of Wellington, taking 5,739 votes or 79.93 percent of the vote, to Bart Novack’s 1,441 votes or 20.07 percent of the vote.
Both open council seats in Wellington appear to be going to a runoff election on Tuesday, April 2.
In Seat 1, the leading contenders appear to be Amanda Silvestri with 2,293 votes or 31.45 percent and Bob Margolis with 1,924 votes or 26.39 percent. If those numbers hold up in the final count, Silvestri and Margolis will advance to the runoff. However, Jay Webber came in right behind Margolis with 1,862 votes or 25.53 percent.
In Seat 4, the top vote getters are Maria Antuña with 2,247 votes or 31.18 percent and Shelly Albright with 2,219 votes or 30.79 percent. They will advance to the April 2 runoff.
In the race for mayor of Royal Palm Beach, incumbent Fred Pinto appears to have kept his seat, taking 2,197 votes or 60.11 percent to the 1,458 votes or 39.89 percent garnered by challenger Steve Avila.
In the Town of Loxahatchee Groves, Seat 1 incumbent Councilwoman Phillis Maniglia appears to have held back a challenge from Robert Sullivan. Maniglia took 382 votes or 59.69 percent to Sullivan’s 258 votes or 40.31 percent.
In the race for Loxahatchee Groves Seat 3, former Councilwoman Anita Kane appears to have unseated Councilwoman Marianne Miles. Kane took 391 votes or 61.29 percent to the 247 votes or 38.71 percent garnered by Miles.
