At the Palm Beach County Commission meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 8, Commissioner Sara Baxter presented a proclamation honoring the life of Royal Palm Beach Mayor Fred Pinto. He was first elected to the Royal Palm Beach Village Council in March 2003, served as vice mayor, and was elected mayor in March 2016, serving as the first Black person to hold the office. Pinto was a longtime champion of the Village of Royal Palm Beach, taking pride in projects such as the mixed-use development Tuttle Royale at State Road 7 and Southern Blvd., the new Royal Palm Beach Village Hall and the ongoing expansion of the Royal Palm Beach Recreation Center. Pinto dedicated his life to serving others, and the impact he has had on the community will be long remembered. Shown above are Baxter with Donielle Pinto.
