Stanley Chen Wins Engineering Contest

Emerald Cove Middle School STEM student Stanley Chen recently competed in a 3D engineering contest held at the Cox Science Center. The students had to identify a problem, with an emphasis on empathy, and come up with a 3D-printed solution. He designed a chessboard for the visually impaired. The chess pieces have braille to help identify them, and the board has slots to hold the pieces in place. The competition included middle schools from across Palm Beach County, and Chen earned third place overall.
